Trizonia, Nafpaktos, Rio-Antirrio bridge

On a sailboat to the island of Trizonia, then a ride through Nafpaktos and over the world-famous Rio-Antirrio bridge back to Aigion.

Calm seas in the morning made our sailboat ride such a pleasure! Thank you, Fotis, for arranging the day with your friend George, who was so polite and generous with us all. We had a unique opportunity to see the area in a truly authentic style, just like the locals do.

Trizonia is a clean, tiny little island with beaches, a church, tavernas, gift shops, and NO vehicles. Absolutely beautiful. The rumor around here is that Aristotelis Onasis wanted to purchase this island for his family, and it`s only when the deal fell through he went ahead and he purchased the island of Scorpios instead.

Fresh fish was served right next to the water, at a traditional Greek taverna.

For the way back to Aigion we took a car ride instead – thanks once again Navarchos! We stopped through the historical town of Nafpaktos, through olive trees, then over the world-renowned bridge of Rio-Antirrio, which connects Peloponnesos to the mainland.
